Our History
For 87 years this community, that came to be called the Chapel of the Incarnation, has been serving University of Florida students. Sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Florida, under the spiritual leadership of Bishop John Howard, we are a young adult campus ministry grounded in the Episcopal tradition. A countless number of people have experienced the workings of the Holy Spirit on these grounds through the years. With a beautiful chapel, a lush study garden (also a place for prayer, to use the internet, and just to visit), a comfortable common room, a small library, offices, and sizeable kitchen, we are an open and welcoming community. Located across from Library West (Smathers Libraries), we strive to share the love of Christ and to be open to the fruit of the Spirit --- "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness, and self-control" (Galatians 5.22). In recent years, the Chapel House has offered a healing ministry and the Alpha course. We are a diverse community of students who join together for social time, worship, and spiritual formation opportunities. Come, worship, and celebrate the Risen Lord with us!
