As of May 1, 2015, we have 34 DOK
chapters in the Diocese with an additional one to be instituted on
May 21, 2015, at St. Francis in the Fields in Ponte Vedra.
Currently we have about 600 Daughters in our Diocese which includes
62 churches and one cathedral in 25 counties in the Northern part
of Florida. This provides us a great opportunity for
evangelism in those churches without DOK chapters.
As Daughters it is our responsibility
to follow the Rules of Prayer, Study, Service, and Evangelism as
set forth in our National Handbook. I encourage you to spend
time in prayer daily, attend your chapter meetings, perform service
project in your church and community, and assist your clergy as
needed. There are also opportunities to attend quiet days,
Spring and Fall Assemblies, and the Province IV Assembly at Kanuga
(in NC) each October.
Our prayers should always include the
needs of our fellow Daughters; our church, our community, and the
world, as we work to spread God's Kingdom throughout the world.
Our theme for the next three years is
from Matthew 7: 7. "Ask and it will be given, Seek and ye
shall find, Knock and the door will be opened." It can also
be found in Luke 11: 9-10. My inspiration for our theme came
from several reading in the book JESUS CALLING by Sarah
Young. I highly recommend this book of devotionals for each
day of the year.
Our service project for the next three
years will be Mission Churches in the Diocese: Grace in
Tallahassee, St. Mary's in Jacksonville and Church Without Walls in
Jacksonville.
And remember: to wear your cross
proudly as a symbol of the vows you took when you became a Daughter
of the King.
