Online Registration for Candidates

Happening #142 - January 17-19, 2020

Who can attend Happening?

We welcome 10th - 12th graders of any faith to join us at Happening! Additionally, we invite 9th graders to attend our Spring Happening weekend (typically held in April). Adults who are actively involved in youth ministry in the Diocese of Florida or who have children involved with Happening may also attend. If you have previously attended Happening, please apply to serve on team!

How do I register?

Before you begin this registration process, you will need to have some information available when registering.

Candidates: You will need email addresses for your priest, youth leader, parents, and sponsor (see our About Happening page to read more about Sponors).   It is very important to type the email addresses carefully. In order for your registration to be complete, you must pay the Happening fee of $140 either by credit card or by e-check. If for some reason you need to cancel, cancellation before the registration deadline is required for a refund. Registration Deadline is September 1, 2019. For legal reasons, a parent/guardian MUST be the one to register a candidate. If you have need financial assistance or need help finding a sponsor, please contact our Happening lay director or diocesan youth programs coordinator.

Online Application and Registration for Team

Who can serve on team?

Youth and adults who have previously attended Happening as a candidate and who are actively involved in the life of an Episcopal church and/or youth group are eligible to serve on team for Happening. Team members work in different roles to make sure the weekend runs smoothly. Attending team meeting and the entire Happening weekend are requirements for serving on team. If you aren't eligible to serve on team, look for emails with additional information about how to contribute to the weekend or contact the lay director for additional opportunities.

What if I'm not selected?

Each Happening, we can only take a certain number of youth and adults on team. We try our best to create a good balance of youth of different genders, different churches, and different levels of Happening experience each time. If you aren't chosen to serve on team, don't give up! You'll receive information about other ways you can contribute to the weekend, and we encourage you to apply again in the future. If you apply and aren't selected twice, our by-laws guarantee that you will be selected the third time.

How do I register?

Before you begin this registration process, you will need to have some information available when registering.

Team Members: Application deadline is August 11. The mandatory team meeting is August 30-31 at Episcopal Church of Our Savior in Jacksonville. While we encourage youth to take their own initiative when applying, for legal reasons, a parent/guardian MUST complete the registration forms on Circuitree.

What else do I need to know?

In addition to attending team meeting, team members are asked to arrive at camp at noon on Friday. Again, if this doesn't fit with your schedule, please consider applying for a future Happening. 

All team members will also need to complete Safeguarding God's Children in accordance with the Diocesan Policies for the Protection of Children and Youth.
