We will have three Meet and Greets throughout the diocese during the third week in August. The schedule for Meet and Greets is as follows: Monday, August 17Christ Church, 400 San Juan Dr., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082Wednesday, August 19Holy Trinity, 100 NE 1st St. , Gainesville, FL 32601Friday, August 21Holy Comforter, 2001 Fleischman Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32308 What can I expect during the evening? Next, we will break out into several rooms where one nominee will come in at a time and answer questions posed by a facilitator. Each candidate will rotate through all the rooms. The evening will end with prayer around 8:45 p.m. Do I need to register for a Meet and Greet? Yes. Here is the link to register. You are welcome to attend more than one Meet and Greet. I have a question for the nominees; how do I submit my question? You are invited to submit a question between now and midnight on August 14 using the form above. While we will do our best to get as many questions answered as possible, similar questions may be combined. Will the Meet and Greets be recorded? Each of the Meet and Greets will be video recorded and posted at DioceseFl.org/Bishop-Election and on YouTube soon after the last one on August 21. None will be livestreamed. Do I need to be a convention delegate to attend a Meet and Greet? You do not need to be a delegate to attend a Meet and Greet. All members of our diocese are encouraged to attend to learn about the nominees for bishop. I am not a convention delegate. I do not have a vote. Why would I want to attend a Meet and Greet? The Meet and Greets afford everyone in our diocese an opportunity to get to know the nominees for our next bishop. While non-delegates may not have a vote, their voices and opinions are an essential part of the process of electing a new bishop. Delegates are meant to be representatives of the people in our diocese. Informed non-delegates are in a position to enhance the understanding of delegates who will vote. I am not a convention delegate. To whom should I give my feedback regarding any specific nominee, so that I know my concerns are being addressed? Every parish in our diocese has delegates from the clergy and the laity who are elected by the parish and granted voice and vote at the electing convention. You may talk to your parish priest and/or the delegates who were elected at your parish annual meeting earlier this year. I am a church leader, and I would like to share this information at my church. Do you have a written announcement that has everything in the same place? Yes, here is a link to a written announcement to use at your church. Submit a Question What question would you like to ask our bishop nominees?(Required)
