Bishop Election Results

The Diocese of Florida is blessed to share the election of The Reverend Randy Alexander as the ninth bishop. Read the announcement here.

On October 20, 2026, The Episcopal Church announced that consents were received for the Diocese of Florida’s election of Randy Alexander. Read the Standing Committee’s announcement here.

 

Bishop-Elect Randy Alexander

We give thanks for the election of the Reverend Randy Alexander and look with hope and excitement toward the beginning of his ministry among us.

Bishop-Elect Randy is currently the rector of Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill in Alexandria, Virginia and will continue to serve there through the end of the year.

Consecration

Bishop-Elect Randy’s consecration will be held at St. John’s Cathedral on Saturday, February 6, 2027.

 

Celebrating Bishop-Elect Randy Alexander: An Invitation to Give

Following a longstanding Episcopal tradition, the people of the diocese are invited to help provide gifts for our new bishop, such as the vestments and symbols of office a bishop carries. Your gift will help provide Bishop-Elect Randy’s consecration and ordination gifts and support transition expenses. Any funds left after these costs will go to the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund, where Bishop-Elect Randy will help guide their use in ministry across our diocese.
