Bishop Nominee: The Reverend M. Dorian Del Priore

What excites you about the Diocese of Florida?

Meet The Rev. Dorian Del Priore:

I currently serve as the Rector of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Simpsonville, SC. I previously served as the Canon for Mission and Evangelism at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia, SC, as well as at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Greenville, SC and at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Columbia, SC.

I have been active in leadership across the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, with particular passion for youth and young adult ministry, congregational development, and the discernment process for holy orders.

My current roles include serving on the Commission on Ministry, chair of the Commission on the Diocese, and vice president of Standing Committee. I am a longtime supporter and the vice president of Education Equals Hope, a non-profit seeking to provide for the education of those living in desperate and difficult situations.

In the past, I served on the board and as summer camp chaplain for the Bishop Gravatt Camp and Conference Center in Aiken, SC and served as a campus ministry chaplain for the University of South Carolina.

My churchy interests include Eastern Orthodox spirituality and theology, Ignatian spirituality, missiology, iconography, religious art, and Celtic saints, especially Saint Cuthbert.

I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina and hold a Master in Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA, where I served as Student Body President.

I am married to Lauren, an x-ray technologist, and have two young adult children: Jordan (married to Christine) and Brynn. We also have two Great Danes, Lazarus and Aspen, and an orange tabby cat, Morris. Prior to full-time ministry, I was a licensed home builder, home inspector, and swim coach. My hobbies and passions include swimming, backpacking, camping, hiking, playing music, photography, pizza, and a good bowl of ice cream.
