Convention Election Update from the Standing Committee

Dear Diocese of Florida,

After prayerful deliberation, the Rev. Canon Javon Seaborn has tendered his resignation from his recently elected role as a clergy member of the Standing Committee. In considering the time commitment required relative to his primary work as Rector of St. Gabriel’s Jacksonville and other outreach ministries with which he is involved, Canon Seaborn feels he must fully dedicate himself to those responsibilities.

“This was a difficult decision, but I believe it is in the best interest of my family and my ministry. I am grateful for the trust you placed in me. I look forward to continuing to support our diocese in a different capacity,” said The Rev. Canon Seaborn.

We wholeheartedly respect his decision and are grateful for his faithful consideration.

As provided by the canons, the Diocesan Council will meet promptly to elect a replacement.

We will share more information on the filling of this role as soon as possible.
