Kris Munroe Appointed Cursillo Ministry Lay Director

It gives us great joy to announce that Kris Munroe has been appointed Lay Director of the Cursillo ministry in the Diocese of Florida.

Kris has been a cherished member of St. Philip’s, Jacksonville, for over 40 years, having been baptized, confirmed, and married there. Her deep roots and unwavering commitment to her church community are reflected in her active involvement in numerous ministries and committees at St. Philip’s, including service as Youth Director and as a licensed Lay Worship Leader & Catechist.

Kris’ journey with Cursillo began with her own experience on Cursillo #105, and since then, she has served on more than 10 teams, including serving as the Head of Music for many of these gatherings. Kris has also represented the First Coast West region on the Cursillo council, bringing her insight and dedication to the movement.

Kris believes passionately that Cursillo is a vital component of the diocese’s spiritual life. She emphasizes that the movement thrives when the community is strong, and she is eager to help build and nurture this community in her new role. “I look forward to helping the Cursillo council build community,” she affirms, reflecting her commitment to fostering unity and spiritual growth.

Professionally, Kris is a Registered Nurse Executive, bringing her expertise in leadership and care to her work. She has been married to her husband, Earl, for 17 years, and together they are proud parents of Cristopher, MacKenzie, and Madison.
