Chaplains To The Retired Clergy Margaret MacNaughton and Eric Kahl (M+E) Father Eric Kahl and his wife, Margaret MacNaughton serve as the Chaplains to the Retired Clergy Community of the Diocese of Florida. Their ministry is a partnership with the Church Pension Group and the Diocese of Florida. Their ministry to the retired clergy, spouses, and surviving spouses is primarily one of pastoral care. Eric and Margaret visit members of the retired clergy community in their homes and hospitals, send birthday cards and care notes, make phone calls, and meet folks for meals and coffee. They host social events in various parts of the diocese. In addition, they aid the Diocese of Florida in finding retired clergy who wish to serve as supply clergy for congregations throughout the diocese. Bio Eric is a retired Episcopal priest who serves as a supply priest in the diocese and an adjunct priest at Christ Church, Ponte Vedra Beach. Eric’s active ministry as a priest was served entirely in the State of Florida. He was rector of St. Philip’s, Coral Gables, and St. Mary’s, Tampa. In addition, he was an assistant at St. Paul’s By-the-Sea, Jacksonville Beach, and St. Mark’s, Jacksonville. Margaret is a retired media and marketing executive. In retirement, she is active as an MBTI consultant to Savvy Job Hunters, a ministry of Christ Church, Ponte Vedra Beach. Margaret and Eric (M+E) have five adult children between them and, so far, three grandchildren. M+E are near-native Floridians who have lived and worked in all parts of the state. M+E spend their time taking care of each other and their home in Neptune Beach. They love traveling, especially visiting National Parks throughout the USA. M+E are both life-long learners who love all things local, especially the people they meet.
