Professional Office Staff Together (POST) Summer Meeting

June 20, 2021

Dear Professional Office Staff (and Parish Office volunteers) in the Diocese of Florida:

Hello everyone! I hope all is going well with you as we say goodbye to the month of June and the first 10 days of summer.

Our upcoming one-day POST meeting at Camp Weed and Cerveny Conference Center is Monday, August 2 and we are so excited to be with each of you again! Please mark your calendars and look for lots of information by email and on the Diocesan website (www.diocesefl.org) and share this with your office peers.

Our theme this year is:   “We can make our plans… but the Lord determines our steps…”  (Proverbs 16:9)

Our chaplain and keynote speaker is The Rev. Deacon Sarah Minton. We will hear her testimony and listen to how she made her plans, and how God directed her steps.  From Director of Children and Youth Ministries to Parish Administrator, God set Sarah on a path to be an Episcopal Priest.  We will have other special guests/sessions as well.

You will receive updated information about future events in the Diocese that affect your parish and ministry, including the election of the next Bishop of Florida. You will take home materials to share with your rector and to assist you with your current position. You will spend time and get helpful hints and recommendations from your peers. Most of all, you will have time to laugh, learn and relax a bit.

Join the Diocesan staff and others to learn best practices, discover new resources, learn policies & procedures, worship with us, develop friendships, and have fun while taking a much-deserved break from the office.

Things to know as you “make your plans”:

  1. Plan to come to the Young Room on Monday, August 2 between 8-9 for a continental breakfast followed by our meeting at 9.
  2. Plan to register through Camp Weed by using this link https://campweed.campbrainregistration.com. The cost for Monday is $28 which includes meals, resources, a donation for the speaker and more. Contact us is you have a financial need and need a partial scholarship for the meeting itself.
  3. Plan to come early – if you’d like to join us. There will not be a program on Sunday evening. However, for you early birds, we plan to go out to dinner (each paying for our own meals) and enjoy an evening of sharing, relaxing, etc.
  4. Plan to book your hotel room for Sunday night, August 1, if you want to come early. The cost is $75 per room. (That means if you share a room with 2-3 people, you can split the cost).  If you decide to come in early, you will need to make your own reservations using the same link https://campweed.campbrainregistration.com. Check in is at 4:00pm.
  5. Plan to dress casual!
