An Update from the Diocesan Office

March 6, 2025

Dear beloved people of the Diocese of Florida,

With tremendous gratitude for her remarkable service to the Diocese of Florida for almost a decade, I write to you today to share the news that early next month Alina Martinez, Diocesan Director of People Services, will be taking the next step onward in her career of service to the Church.

In early April, she will begin a new role, working as a regional representative to dioceses for Church Pension Group (CPG).

Dear Diocesan Family,

It is with mixed emotions that I share my decision to step away from my role as diocesan Director of People Services. After much prayer and reflection, I have accepted a new role and a new call to ministry, and I will be joining CPG in early April. While I am excited for this next chapter, this decision was not made lightly, especially given my deep commitment to the mission and ministry of our diocese.

This role has always been more than just a job for me—it is my ministry, where I have felt God’s call to serve this community. My work has been focused on strengthening the systems and structures that support the people of this diocese, and it has been an honor to contribute to this shared mission. However, it is the relationships I’ve built with the people of the diocese—whether in the pews or behind the work—that have truly been the heart of this ministry. These connections have deepened my faith and strengthened my understanding of God’s purpose in our lives.

I am deeply grateful to the diocesan leadership, both past and present, for their support and trust over the years. The opportunities to serve, learn, and grow in this role have been a gift. My hope is that the work we have done together will continue to support this vibrant community as we all seek to fulfill God’s calling.

Thank you for the privilege of being part of this journey. I look forward to seeing how the diocese continues to grow in faith and purpose in the years ahead.

With gratitude,

Alina

We at the diocesan offices will miss Alina deeply, but we are so proud of the recognition she has received and know that this is the logical next career step for her. Alina is a great teammate, a great source of support, and is always directed to the service of the congregations and people of this Diocese. She has a gift for working with people, consulting, and thinking strategically.

More importantly, Alina is dedicated to the furtherance of the Church’s mission to serve God and to make Christ known. Personally, she has been a great encourager to me as I have joined the diocesan staff.

Since she will be based from home, we are grateful that she will still be among us as our sister in Christ and friend!

Please join in giving thanks for the ministry Alina has shared with our diocese and to wish her well in her next role!
