Search Committee The Diocese of Florida has formed committees for both the Search/Nominating and Transition Committees. These groups are crucial in shared leadership in identifying and calling our next bishop diocesan. The Search and Transition Committees take on very different roles – please pay attention to where you might be called and how your gifts fit into the constellation of needs! For the Transition Committee page, click here. Search Committee Description The Holy Work of the Search Committee is to create and present a slate of candidates to the Standing Committee within the parameters (not fewer than 3, on March 27, 2026) outlined in the official “Charge to the Search Committee” given by the Standing Committee. The Search Committee is a committee entrusted with the sacred task of discerning who will be the next bishop of the Diocese of Florida. The search committee is committed to prayerful and faithful discernment as they look forward with hope, seeking God’s guidance to identify a leader who will shepherd the diocese into a future shaped by the love of Christ. Diocesan-Wide Survey in English and Español November 10, 2025: A Reflection from the Bishop Search Committee Ahead of Martinmas Surveys The Bishop Search Committee is moving into the next leg of the “input phase” of the bishop search process — a diocese-wide survey. The survey opens December 1 and closes December 22. Your answers are anonymous, and you can only take the survey once. As we focus on hope and joyful expectation during this season of Advent, we would appreciate 25-30 minutes of your time to take the survey and share your feedback. Survey details: The survey will run for three weeks, opening on Monday, December 1, 2025 and closing on Monday, December 22, 2025. The survey takes about 25-30 minutes. Your answers on the survey are anonymous. You can only take the survey once. You must take the survey in one sitting — you can’t save your answers and return to the rest of the survey later. It’s best to take the survey on a computer or a tablet. Cellphones are not very friendly to a survey of this sort.
