Sacred Ground Group at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, Jacksonville

On April 3 at 6 p.m., Diane Downing from Christ Church Ponte Vedra and Wendell (Tony) Morrison from St. Philips will be facilitating another Sacred Ground group. This program is a video and reading-based, eleven-session dialogue series of 2 – 2.5 hours each.

The group will possibly meet in person during the first and last weeks and by Zoom at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays the other sessions. Participants will need to have time to watch the videos and do the readings in preparation for each session and will need to acquire two core books:

• Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman
• Waking up White by Debby Irving, which is available at the Cathedral Bookstore.

They are trying to have a diverse group to bring out opinions and discussions from different experiences and cultures. All are invited to join. The majority of the 25,000 men and women across the country who have participated, describe Sacred Ground as transformative and beneficial for their spiritual growth.
