Lunch is available upon request between 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for an additional charge of $15. Please note on your registration if you want lunch before the Special Meeting.

If the registration fee presents a financial hardship, please reach out to the Standing Committee at standingcommittee@diocesefl.org.

Registration Details

The registration fee is $95.00 (for both in-person and Zoom attendees) to help us defray a portion (about half) of the expenses necessary to have an efficient, professionally run meeting, including:

  • Electronic voting (which costs about $25 per delegate)
  • Services from a professional production company that handles all on-site audiovisual needs as well as livestream and Zoom functions, satisfying the critical requirements of hearing, speaking, and voting (which costs about $112 per delegate)
  • Parliamentarian support (which costs about $30 per delegate)
  • Other logistical costs, such as facility usage, vendor and staff lodging, set up, snacks, etc. (which costs about $24 per delegate)

These elements are key to ensuring a transparent, efficient, and well-run convention.

All participants are required to register:

  • Lay Delegates
  • Canonically resident clergy (with or without cure)
  • Non-canonically resident clergy (with or without cure)

Important Note

If you are canonically resident clergy without cure and did not register to vote, you are still welcome to attend with voice and seat, but without vote. If you are canonically resident clergy without cure and registered to vote, please also register to attend this meeting. You will have seat, voice, and vote.

Non-canonically resident clergy with cure registering to attend this meeting are entitled to vote at this meeting; non-canonically resident clergy without cure are not.

Overview of Meeting and Schedule

At this meeting, we will adopt the rules and procedures for the election of our next bishop. These rules and procedures will address all parts of the election, including:

  • The formation of the search committee,
  • Applications for that committee, and
  • The election itself.

The adoption of these rules is a critical step in our diocesan discernment process to elect a new Bishop, and your participation is essential.

The first draft of the rules and procedures will be posted on the Diocese of Florida website by May 15, 2025 at 5 p.m. A communication announcing that posting will be sent to those on the diocesan mailing list, accompanied by Facebook and Instagram posts.

Comments on that draft will be accepted by e-mail to comments@diocesefl.org through Wednesday, June 4, at 5 p.m. To streamline the Special Meeting, the Standing Committee will consider those comments and incorporate those it considers to be widely acceptable and in the best interest of the process.

A final draft will be posted on the Diocese of Florida website by 5 p.m. on June 7, 2025. That draft will be the draft moved for approval at the commencement of the June 14 Special Meeting. Amendments may be offered from the floor at the Special Meeting.

Voting

We will be using electronic voting, and we strongly encourage in-person attendance. A Zoom option will be available for those unable to attend in person, but we ask that you briefly share your reason for attending remotely.

Thank you for your faithful service and dedication to the life and future of our Diocese. We look forward to seeing you on June 14. Please contact Hannia Reyes hreyes@diocesefl.org with any questions.
