Union of Black Episcopalians: 55th Annual Business Meeting and Conference

July 24, 2023 - July 26, 2023

The Union of Black Episcopalians 55th Annual Business Meeting and Conference will take place on July 24-26, 2023 in Montgomery, Alabama! Montgomery is the birthplace of the civil rights movement (1954-1968) and home to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice Museum, informally known as the National Lynching Memorial, established in 2018 to commemorate the black victims of lynching in the United States and to further the mission of The Equal Justice Initiative and of the Legacy Museum: From Enslavement to Mass Incarceration.

The event will explore the convergence of American Black history with contemporary issues facing black and brown bodies. The theme for this 55th Annual Business Meeting and Conference is So Flows Our River: NIA – Purpose, IMANI – Faith and UMOJA – Unity. This event presents an excellent opportunity for families and individuals alike to experience an enriching vacation that is fun, informative, and inspiring.

This in-person only event will be held at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center, located at 201 Tallapoosa St, Montgomery, AL 36104, with transportation provided to various locations around the city that are part of the conference agenda. Please note that the Renaissance does not provide a hotel shuttle service to and from the airport.
