Episcopal Church Women Who We Are We are Episcopal Church Women of all ages, ethnic origins and socioeconomic backgrounds who hold a variety of views. The common denominator of members is love of God and the desire to do His work. Centered in congregations, the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) empowers women to do Christ’s ministry in the world. We provide financial support to the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund, campus ministries, Cuba outreach, Church Women United, Episcopal Relief and Development, Urban ministries, Seminarians, and Camp St. Michael. We are committed to our mission and to sharing our ministries and evangelism efforts with all. It is often said that every woman in every pew is a member of ECW. If you are a woman and are a member of the Episcopal Church, then you are an Episcopal Church Woman. “But as women have become integrally involved in the life and work of the Church, the need for a women’s group is not as readily apparent. An important ‘why’: women simply enjoy getting together with other women – whether it is for fellowship, Bible study or working on a project. Another important aspect is the opportunity for women to grow into the life of the Church through women’s ministries. Many of the women in leadership roles in the larger body of the Church began their involvement/ministry with the Episcopal Church Women. Vision Our vision for all women of the Episcopal Church is that we become a vibrant blend of all ages, coming together as a peacemaking, healing part of the Church. We aspire to be a God spark – shining and sharing the love of Christ. ECW Prayer Almighty God, we pray that you will bless our work in mission and ministry in the world. Help us to pray fervently, labor diligently, and give liberally to make known the power of your love given through your Son, Jesus Christ. Let us not forget the lessons of the past or fear the challenges of the future. Anoint us with your grace and shine in our hearts as we reflect your light throughout the world.
